5 More Robotic Monsters or Minions for D&D 5e.

If you haven't seen my previous post, 5 Robotic Monsters or Minions for D&D 5e, then you should probably check it out. It will explain why this blog has suddenly become about robots instead of pirates. Sorry for my long delay in posting, but as many of you know, my family and I live on a boat. Well, we were right in the path of Hurricane Irma. We have survived it with no damage to our vessel and only some minor losses to our personal electronics due to a massive leak that occurred during the storm. We were lucky in that a tablet and a pair of cell phones were our only casualties. If you are interested in the tale of a family of nautical novices trying to live on a sailboat, then you should check out our News and Events page.

If you are not familiar with Ultramodern 5e from Dias Ex Machina games, then you owe it to yourself to check it out. Again, it is my hope that you can find some way to use these bots in your own campaigns. Even in a fantasy game, they could be ancient or alien artifacts or perhaps sophisticated clockworks made by a master tinker. However you choose to use them, I hope that you enjoy 5 More Robotic Monsters or Minions for D&D 5e. Until next time, fair winds, following seas, and happy gaming!

Centurion Bots

Common

Number Appearing: 1

AC: 18

HP: 150

2 Ranged Attacks:

Shoulder Lasers +5 to hit 7 Dmg (1d8+3) Special Attack: Grab-n-Shock (See Below)

Alignment: Neutral

Intelligence: High (16 - 17)

Size: M (6.5' Tall)

Speed: 30 feet (walking)

Centurion Bots were created to handle mundane security issues for police departments. They were originally deployed in the field with human partners, but law changes opened up the Centurion to the private market. Soon Centurion Bots were everywhere from SuperMart to the local bake sale. These tough robots became so popular because they can both take and dish out punishment.

The Centurion Bots have a laser mounted in each of their shoulders; these guns can target independent targets and fire once per round. In addition to the lasers, Centurion Bots can attempt to grab a creature and apply a stunning shock to them. Creatures caught by the Centurion Bots are given a stunning shock and must make 2 consecutive CON saves at DC20 to be able to move at 50% movement rate with DISADVANTAGE to all DEX related skills and saves until the creature has had a short rest. These robots were programmed to defend people as a primary function; they might malfunction, but they won't become a crazy, murderous psycho bot killing everyone they see.

Domestic Bots

Common

Number Appearing: 1

AC: 14

HP: 50

1 Attack:

Headbutt +2 to hit 4 Dmg (1d6) Special Attacks: None

Alignment: Neutral

Intelligence: Average (10 - 11)

Size: S (3' in Diameter)

Speed: 30 feet (flying)

Domestic Bots fit the description of a wide range of robots from simplistic automated power stations to complex maid robots capable of overseeing all of the cleaning and simple maintenance tasks around the house. Domestic Bots are usually too simple to have any kind of attack beyond simply smashing themselves into their target. Unmodified Domestic Bots have no special attack, yet these bots would be easy to modify with a remote detonation attack. Domestic Bots are usually found only a short range from a large power source that they will plug themselves into each night to recharge.

Reporter / Camera Bots

Uncommon

Number Appearing: 1

AC: 13 or worn armor

HP: 150

2 Attacks:

Fist +2 to hit 4 Dmg (1d4+2)

Or by weapon type Special Attack: None

Alignment: Neutral

Intelligence: High (16 - 17)

Size: M (6' Tall)

Speed: 30 feet

Reporter / Camera Bots were in widespread use before the apocalypse. They were used not only by news crews who wanted to get breathtaking shots without risking their own life and limb, but also by engineers studying disaster sites without putting themselves in harm's way. All of these bots have 2 skills (Perception and Investigation). However, some of these bots have advanced skill packages, making them able to keep up with a squad of soldiers or pretend to be a roman gladiator. Those Movie Camera Bots are the most advanced and also the rarest of this type of bot that you will find.

Alien Scavenger Bots

Rare

Number Appearing: 1

AC: 20

HP: 110

2 Attacks:

Light Cyclonic Cannon +3 to hit 7 dmg (1-10+2) Special Attack: EMP (See Below)

Alignment: Neutral

Intelligence: Sub-Genius (15 - 16)

Size: M (5' Tall)

Speed: 30 feet (walking)

Alien Scavenger Bots are rare. They are also rarely seen due to a +15 to all stealth rolls due to an alien cloaking field they are equipped with. These bots are always accompanied by 2 Alien Shadow Bots who protect the Scavenger Bot while it picks through the wastes collecting wildly random things. Alien Scavenger Bots have a the form of a human female wearing some sort of helmet, when seen outside their stealth field. They hold objects they wish to collect (no larger than 25 kilos) against the outside of their midsection and the object sinks inside. As the bot's storage area grows full, the figure looks more and more pregnant. These robots are armed with a light cyclonic cannon, which is both fast and deadly. Firing twice each round, the cannons do 1d10+2 damage when they hit. Additionally, any electronic device struck with this weapon must save at DC 20 or be rendered inoperable by the EMP caused by the weapon. Alien Scavenger Bots are never aggressive; they will hide patiently and scavenge when everyone/everything is gone. They only fire their weapons in self-defense.

Alien Shadow Bots

Rare

Number Appearing: 2

AC: 17

HP: 200

2 Attacks:

Nuclear Sniper Rifle +5 to hit 10 dmg (1d12+4) Special Attack: EMP (See Below)

Alignment: Neutral

Intelligence: Sub-Genius (15 - 16)

Size: M (6' Tall)

Speed: 30 feet (walking)

Alien Shadow Bots are both rare and mysterious. They are always encountered in pairs and always found escorting an Alien Scavenger Bot. Alien Shadow Bots have a +15 to all stealth rolls due to a personal cloaking field. The two bots work together as a pair of snipers escorting and guarding their target, an Alien Scavenger Bot. Alien Shadow Bots are armed with nuclear sniper rifles that fire twice per round doing 1d12+4 damage on a hit. Additionally, any electronic device struck with this weapon must save at DC 20 or be rendered inoperable by the EMP caused by the weapon. Alien Shadow Bots only attack when the Alien Scavenger Bot they are protecting is attacked or in self-defense. These bots appear as humanoid soldiers when not cloaked.
